Remove Left Side Saddle Bag

Use a magic marker and draw a line along the bracket that the seat strap bolt holds in place. This will keep you from guessing where that bracket needs to be when you remount your saddle bag. Remove the Seat Strap and lay over towards the other side of your bike.

Remove the Seat Screw, then remove Seat.

Temporarily remove the small center bolt, that holds the metal strap to your seat catch. This will allow you to remove and discard that gray plastic cosmetic piece. Reinstall the bolt and tighten.

Remove the (2) rear tank mounting Bolts, insert the special spacers provided (not shown) included with your 08 installation kit. Reinsert the Mounting Bolts with the spacers underneath rear tank mount and tighten. This spacing will raise the seat catch to allow the ease of remounting your seat. DO NOT trap or try to secure the Deflectors underneath when tightening the bolts. The seat and Velcro will hold the deflectors in their designed position.

The brass eyelets have been added to our deflectors providing added "peace of mind" in prevention of loss due to theft or tampering when secured with tie-wraps.
If your motorcycle is still required for service check-ups. The tie-wraps should not be applied. Damage may occur by service technicians whom are unqualified with the installation knowledge of our Heat Deflectors. As a safety precaution, if removal of the deflectors can not be made.
We recommend taking photographs with time and date embedded for proof, incase of faulty installation damage.
